How is Be! Meeting the Need?

Effectiveness

The program includes four objectives used to measure the attainment of outcome goals:

  • Ability to understand how to stay safe while using technology
  • Demonstrate how to be an active bystander and respond to victims/survivors
  • Understanding sexual assault facts and consent
  • Understanding the fundamentals of healthy relationships

Measurement

  • The curriculum collects and tracks continuous feedback from students and teachers.
  • Student evaluations are given prior to the program and at the end to measure student knowledge growth.

National Need

  • 1 in 4 girls and 1 in 6 boys will be sexually abused by the age of 18. (www.stopitnow.com)

  • 41% of teen girls report being pressured into sexual activity. (www.iu.edu)
